About Jess

I came to Yoga with a busy brain and an injured back. Favouring high intensity sport, working hard and pushing myself.

It wasn’t something that came easy, sitting still - staying silent. It was uncomfortable physically and mentally, but deep down I knew it was what I needed.

Yoga classes weren’t a place I’d felt comfortable in before. My body didn’t look or move the way I saw my teachers move, but I felt to complete my teacher training as a way to remove myself from my busy life and fill up my own cup. Little did I know, it would grow into a passion I love to share with others who might feel the same. By stepping in front of a class, I completely let go of how I looked and cared about the people I was serving, embodying what I hope all my students feel.

My classes emphasise strong muscle engagement rather than pushing the body to achieve a shape, keeping you safe and aligned. I have little focus on the look of a body, rather that you walk away feeling connected to your own body and still in your own thoughts. I love to flex and adapt my classes to suit the group and move between fast Vinyassa practice, through to slow Yin style for a calming class.

I have completed 200hrs Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training with Ashtari Training. I have also completed 50hrs Advanced Teacher Training with Kindred Studio, Nelson as well as Breathwork and Meditation Courses. I am also a certified First Responder and Firefighter (still love lifting heavy and a bit of hard work!).

Let Yoga teach you ‘Hatha’, the beautiful balance of strength, softness and stillness.
